Hey, it’s been a while. I must admit that the long haul and icy fingers of Winter were getting me down and I was struggling to feel inspired or focused.

But the grip of Winter is slowly letting up and I have finally seen the sun, in all its massive glowing glory for longer than one day. Better news it hasn’t snowed in two!

During my plight of starvation for the warmth of the sun and tickle of grass under my feet I was reminded that in the little simplest things we must allow laughter. Find joy.

Fact about me, I am a Jeep owner, well not just any Jeep owner I am in the cult of Wrangler owners. You know the weird people who wave to each other, sanctifying membership into an irrelevant club of culture. There is this thing Jeep owners do, not just wave, but leave rubber ducks on other Jeeps as a way of “spreading the love”.

I must admit – the wave is cool but ducks, really? I was slated to stay in my misery, out of the nonsense of leaving plastic fouls on doors of fellow Wranglers, well, that is until I got one.

What does all this have to do with Spiritual wellbeing? On one evening when I was feeling particularly devoid of all motivation, creativity, and completely lost in the dark vastness of the societal hamster ball, I trudged to my Jeep. Disconnected from the world, my tired hand reached to open the door and it brushed the soft, squishy, stupidly smiling yellow duck that was stuck ever so spectacularly in the door’s handle.

The discovery of this yellow treasure left behind just for me brought a genuine smile to my face and filled the darkness with loud laughter. It was a simple gesture that gave me joy and pulled me out of the grasp of humbug thinking.

So, the point, whether it comes in the shape of a tiny yellow duck, on the wings of a butterfly, or in any countless ways make sure you allow the joy in – allow it to come simply and in the most unexpected way. Yes, even if it’s a little yellow duck with a goofy smile.

Thank you for taking time to read this blog. I am here, sending you inspiration, insight, and strength for what lies ahead in your own self-discovery and connection with Spirit. I hope somewhere between the lines of what I share and do not fully say that you find inspiration and revelations about yourself and your own journey. Please, if so, inspired leave a comment. Your feedback will help me better generate topics suited to you, the reader.
