Spirit Coaching

Often, it seems like humans think about life as something that just happens to them. Imagine if we could change that perspective and realize life is something that we participate in.

Maybe you are among the percentage that realize you are an active participant in life but feel like it’s still a struggle. This morning, I was making my coffee, really, I wasn’t even ready to start the mental thinking of the day when Spirit showed me this amazing analogy and I felt drawn to share it with you!

I was never a participant in organized sport, although I am an avid fan of all things competitive so I cannot understand this from an athlete’s perspective, but I can as a coach. Coaching, that is exactly where Spirit’s analogy is taking us.

First, let’s talk about being the grown-up for a youth in organized sports. It’s hard right! You must coordinate rides, try, and navigate emotions, help them stay humble, establish desire and passion for the game while helping them take lessons out of losses.

As a coach you do a lot of the same things, but you also try to instill discipline, build, and develop the athlete’s skillset, come up with offensive and defensive play to help them reach their goal, which in this case would be a win. As a coach or grown-up of an athlete you understand that your athlete or team will not always take away a W but that the lesson in a loss is equally important and a HUGE part of their development.

As a coach we know that having a coachable athlete who listens to guidance and puts in the time outside of practice is key to not only the team’s development but their own. So here it is, the important part. What do they do after the loss? Does the team/athlete regroup, work harder, develop skillsets in their area of weakness, find ways to work better with their team, etc. or do they sulk and sit within that space?

The accumulation of all of this is the realization Spirit wants you to understand, they our ARE coaches! Change your perspective and understand that you are actively participating in your life. You will have wins and losses but how you manage each is vital to your development and those around you, your soul group, your TEAM!

Today ask yourself, if you were on the court, field, track, mat, right now are you listening to your coaches? Are you coachable? Are you doing the extra work to reach your goals?

Thank you for taking time to read this blog. I am here, sending you inspiration, insight, and strength for what lies ahead in your own self-discovery and connection with Spirit. I hope somewhere between the lines of what I share and do not fully say that you find inspiration and revelations about yourself and your own journey. Please, if so, inspired leave a comment. Your feedback will help me better generate topics suited to you, the reader.
