Opportunity Knocks Constantly

We often hear when opportunity knocks as a reference to taking a chance and allowing an impending changing of tides of our fortune or position.  This phrase has always made me feel like opportunity is elusive and is something we simply wait for. Manifest, I guess. Well, I am not, nor have I ever been good at sitting and waiting.

Chance. Opportunity. Good fortune, this is something that simply can happen to us, but it is also self-created.  It is created out of taking chances, working hard and sometimes by a primitive need to preserve. One thing I have learned is that opportunity knocks consistently, we just don’t label them as opportunities. If you choose a healthy snack, you are taking advantage of the opportunity to become healthier.  Saving money is taking advantage of the opportunity to be financially secure.  Decisions are opportunities and whether an opportunity is one you self-created or manifested what you do with it matters!

So many times, I have seen people presented with opportunity but because it wasn’t packaged as they expected they simply allow it to expire or pass. Honestly, 25 weeks ago I never imagined I would write a blog; how would that even play into what I thought I was going to be doing? Here we are and this platform has allowed us to connect and Spirit to share with you while it has also opened me to countless opportunities and introductions to many wonderful individuals.

Think about it, how many times have you felt stuck? In this time of feeling stuck did you move out of your comfort zone and allow opportunities that were different to prosper? Did you stay where you felt comfortable and hence did not allow opportunities that were different to develop?

As a human I have delt with this. I have passed up opportunities because I didn’t feel it was “what I wanted to do” or because I didn’t feel it was “in my lane”. As a Spiritual Life Coach, I have had clients who have done the same things. What I have learned is that in the times I prayed and counseled with Spirit to help me, to open up opportunities for me I was guilty of often smothering the new life before it was born into my world. Why? Simple, it didn’t look like the opportunity I pictured, and I couldn’t imagine how it played into the big picture I envisioned as my life.

Sometimes we must take a chance, allow a new idea or opportunity to take shape and not limit yourself based on not understanding how it will fit into your big pictures. It is amazing how Spirit puts us more in alignment with our life’s purpose when we trust the process and grow in all ways.

I am thankful I have stepped into that trust; I can’t imagine where I would be if I hadn’t fully committed to being open to new adventures. I can’t imagine where I would be if I didn’t understand that in everything, we do there is an opportunity. I hope you will consider allowing some new adventures in your life as well … I hope you will take the opportunity to be your best you.
