Connections, isn’t that a huge aspect of what the human experience is about? In life we make countless connections, often impacting others without knowing. The connections we make come in numberless ways with the people we encounter and range from being lasting, fleeting, tutorial, or revolving.

Not that change is easy but we, as humans often come to understand that relationships, these connections with people will vary and be inconsistent. We expect it and that change is not what we are discussing today.

People change, just like the moon we also go through phases of life and in that lies the struggle with the ties that bind, the unseen cords that keep us connected when we know it is time to let go.

I find this to be the most difficult ending to a connection. Sometimes we may not even understand that the energy in a connection is out of balance, leaving us feeling frustrated in the relationship. Then there are times we know that the energy is not balanced, no longer a fit for us. I have found it is in the actual knowing that there has been a negative energetic shift in the connection that we tend to come to a resolve of needing a conclusion. It is in this conclusion and understanding that it is time to let go, that there has already been a turmoil of self-examination, examination of the connection, and the people or person attached to that connection. The hard realization is that not only earthly boundaries, but metaphysical ones need to be established. Cutting cords, the ties that bind.

The cutting of ties, releasing a connection does not always mean it is a permanent separation from the connection. Cutting cords can be used to gain space, until someone heals or grows. Know that in this type of setting boundaries you may find yourself grieving the “death” of a connection. Grief, sadness in a loss is okay and this is a type of loss, but it is also a space for finding oneself separate from those bindings.

There are many reasons for finding a need to cut cords. Know that whatever the reason, it is a very personal decision. There are ways to cut cords with connections in this lifetime or another and if you feel called to this, I recommend researching ways to do this with gratitude and love.

It is okay to reclaim your energy!
